3D Areola/Nipple Reconstruction
Who is it for?
Those who have suffered the loss an areola and/or nipple due to cancer, accident, surgery or other medical reason
3D Areola restoration tattoo is a cosmetic tattooing procedure that recreates the natural look of the areola and nipple following breast reconstruction or augmentation. The treatment can also correct asymmetry or color loss in the areola.
3D Areola restoration tattooing is a soft and hyper-realistic, non-invasive permanent work of art that will restore natural beauty.
Before the Procedure:
Before we begin we go over your pain points, desired outcomes and any questions you may have.
On the day of the procedure we ask that you try to refrain from drinking caffeine up to 3 hours before your appointment and avoid taking any medications like pain killers that can thin your blood. (Don’t worry, if you still have feeling in this area, we have a doctor that can numb you right up!)
This allows us to get the best pigment retention possible during your procedure. If you have any questions regarding this please feel free to ask.
During the Procedure:
The artist will measure/sketch the shape and size to view before beginning the tattoo. Numbing may also be applied if needed.
The artist will then mix a personalized color to match your natural tones.
When finished, you will be able to view the tattoos, and then bandages are applied! Expect redness the first 24-48 hours.
A second appointment is booked for around 6-8 weeks later where any additional pigment or details are added to ensure the longevity of your new tattoo as best we can.
What to know for Post Procedure:
After your appointment you will be given your own Aftercare instructions. It is advised that you shower before your appointment so you do not have to take a full shower that day with a fresh tattoo. Be aware that we also advise you not to wear a super tight fitting bra to the appointment and recommend refraining from wearing one if you can for 48 hours after to prevent the bandages from pressing too much up agains the skin so early on. We also advise that you do not plan on being in any pools, saunas, or heavy exercise following the appointment to avoid risk of infection. With that said, we will go over everything in detail, all the dos and don’ts and you will be provided with full instructions during your appointment.
(Instructions are also always available on this site in case you misplace yours and need to refer back. Feel free to have a look before your appointment as well.)
